Completed in 2018, this 5-story building encompasses a total area of 7,223 m², expertly integrating 108 prefabricated modules. The hotel was designed to provide modern, comfortable, and efficient accommodations for business travelers and visitors to the burgeoning trade zone, combining robust construction with architectural practicality.

Engineered for Extreme Environments & Rapid Deployment
The Djibouti FIZ Hotel was delivered under demanding conditions using GS MOD’s high-performance modular system. Every unit was precision-engineered and fully prefabricated off-site, with all manufacturing taking place in a quality-controlled factory environment. Each of the 108 modules was built to comply with stringent international standards and arrived at the site in Djibouti with complete structural integrity, fully integrated MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems, and finished interiors—all pre-installed and inspected.
This turnkey methodology ensured uniform quality across the entire project and allowed for exceptionally fast and precise on-site assembly, even in a remote location. By utilizing advanced modular construction, the project achieved a significantly accelerated schedule compared to traditional building techniques, while fully meeting rigorous performance and safety standards required for the extreme climate and industrial setting of the Djibouti Free Trade Zone.

GS MOD managed the comprehensive turnkey process, from initial design and engineering to factory fabrication and final on-site assembly. Our engineering team developed a module structure optimized for mid-rise stacking, ensuring absolute safety and durability in the challenging Djibouti climate.
Within our factory, the modules were completed with structural steel frames, high-performance insulation, interior fit-outs, and all essential building systems pre-installed and tested.
